A Movie Without Sound
A Half Told Story
Imagine…. You are in a cinema hall, the movie is amazing with outstanding actors and plot, however with no sound and music. How far do you think you would be able to enjoy the theatrical experience?
Without music, even the most powerful stories feel incomplete, and the deepest emotions remain unexpressed.
Music: The Voice of Emotion
Music is a medium of expression, used to express feelings like gratitude, love, friendship, anger, power, nervousness, and so on. You name it, and music gives it a voice.
A melody can capture the feeling of falling in love; a rhythm can mirror your heartbeat in anxiety or excitement.
Music expresses what words often cannot.
An Infinite Ocean of Awe
Music is not only associated with pleasant sounds, rather it is like a boundless ocean of knowledge, eternality and wonder, stretched infinitely. The first step a beginner takes is by preparing themselves for the initial dive.
That first note, the first beat, or the first time one listens with intention—it’s the beginning of a journey into an ever-expanding universe of rhythm, harmony, and emotion.
Eventually music is so powerful that it is capable to suffice an individual’s requirement of peace for life as it goes on to guide it through each tough turn of life. The deeper you dive, the closer you get to your soul.
Music becomes more than sound. It becomes
Meditation
Reflection
& Healing
Music and the Inner Self
As Sri Vivekananda rightly once quoted,
“Education is the manifestation of perfection already present in men.”
Music is like that ‘perfection’ which you do not need to find anywhere else, it is already part of your existence.
Music doesn't have to be discovered—it only needs to be awakened. Every person carries a rhythm inside them, a harmony waiting to be heard.
Conclusion
Music isn’t just for the ears—it’s for the heart, the soul, and the spirit. It is a lifelong companion, a therapist without words, and a friend without expectations.
Once you learn an instrument, till your last breath, it becomes a lifelong, loyal refuge. It never truly leaves your side—it understands your silence, your joy, your pain, and speaks for you when you cannot. Even if, at some point, you choose to step away from it… the melodies remain—etched quietly in your memory. Long after your hands forget, your soul will still hum the tune.
Thus,
I would always suggest learning at least one instrument, you might not need it now, but in future it will be your backbone. Mark my words…
So next time you listen to your favourite tune, remember: you're not just hearing a song. You're connecting with something timeless, something universal, something deeply you.
Learning at least one instrument, you might not need it now, but in future!

This is a beautifully articulated reflection on what music means to different people Medha. The power of music is immense - it can heal, sadden, lighten up the atmosphere or transform a mood. Music is the basis of creation of moods (rasa keerti) and can help a pwrson concentrate and produce appropriate pieces of art, sculpture or writing. Well done!
